Place-Based Projects is a creative studio dedicated to uplifting bioregional efforts through strategy, storytelling, and experience.

We help communities uncover their regenerative potential, then turn that into stories, identity, and momentum.

We take a bioregional approach

Our mission is to strengthen community ties and increase dedication to to place.

We work with organizations in small towns and rural communities, place-focused developers and projects, and tourism and destination organizations to transform how we live together.

What We Do

We work closely with our clients to determine the best scope of work.

We meet you where you are and help you reach your goals.

Define your place

Our research process enables us to uncover the essence of your community that can only exist in situ. We then turn that into a clear, compelling identity.

  • Brand strategy

  • Messaging + positioning

  • Narrative development

Tell your story

We seek out, record, and tell the stories that make people care about your place. We seek out underrepresented stories and voices and highlight narratives of resilience, adaptability, and collective empowerment.

  • Community storytelling

  • Content + media

  • Campaign direction

Activate your future

We make stories real so your place doesn’t just sound better, it works better. We facilitate cross-functional relationships to turn a coherent narrative into a living story.

  • Community and resilience building

  • Strategic roadmapping

  • Experience and placemaking guidance
